For ink marks or permanent marker: Apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to a cotton swab and dab the stain. Do not rub — dabbing prevents spreading. The alcohol evaporates quickly and usually lifts the mark. Follow with a clean damp cloth and dry.

Bleach — Concentrated bleach damages most paint and stain finishes. Diluted bleach solutions are less harmful but still not recommended.
Ammonia-based glass cleaners — Glass cleaners like Windex contain ammonia, which can soften and cloud certain topcoats. Use water-based cleaners instead.
High-pressure water — Pressure washers or high-pressure nozzles will force water into seams and joints. Use low-pressure methods only.
If you're uncertain about a specific cleaning product, test it on an inconspicuous area — behind a light fixture or inside a closet — and wait 24 hours to see if the finish is affected.
